16th Pretty diamond like plastic beads - 6 mm for Silke, 8 mm for Eric. They loved them!
17th Rings- Silke had been complaining that her princess ring broke, so Santa brought 6 rings for each kid. Plastic. Glittery. Big hit. 25 cents for 6 in Wal-Mart -Halloween sale..
18th. Santa brought live caterpillars for Silke, and ladybug grubs for Eric (they were all dead upon arrival though, but I contactedSanta insectlore and a new batch will be sent). Each got a sticker sheet in their stocking since there's no way I'm putting live caterpillars in a stocking.
19th Christmas music CD for Eric, DVD with 'Pippi longstocking's Christmas' for Silke
20th Small fiery dragon for Eric (He's so fond of it 'it's my dragon', he says)
and 2 glittery headbands for Silke.
21st Jewelry links for both (hønseringe)
22nd Visit to San Diego Safaripark
23rd Small Christmas straw for each, and we went to see Christmas Lights in Quails botanical garden
24th small stockings for tree + 1 candy cane each
25th.. they got to eat the gingerbread carousel..They ate half of it and I threw the rest away. I have to say, the store bought version of gingerbread is disappointing - it tastes like dried up sugar with a bit of flour in it - it has no bite; no spicy christmassy taste. The ones Claus made for us were a hybrid between American gingerbread men and Danish honey cookies - we used honey instead of sugar (not much healthier, but tastier) and plenty of spices! A lot better!
Some of this stuff I wanted to do; but I couldn't find epsom salt for the crystals, and since Claus was away for several days I had to change some of the plans...
Crystals in the sun link
Christmas Card Lane in Penasquitos (managed to do that the 29th)
Christmas bulb ornaments (more here, from pinterest) - will have to wait to next year
Getting bagels for dinner at a bagel-place!
Crystal-cups see link
Make lemonade (have a lemon tree in our backyard) Did that the 31th Will be a bit difficult to do in Denmark with lemons from our own tree..
Make marzipan - did that the 26th. The marzipan you buy here is adapted to American tastebuds, and for us it's so sweet that it's almost inedible. Almonds are cheap(er) than in Denmark, so we make our own! It's easy!
Underwear: I wanted to get superhero underwear for Eric, but couldn't find his size in Costco..
